Breaking The Boundaries of Floor Design In “The Land Of No”
Fire Island also known as the Barrier Island sometimes is one of the best tourist destinations in Long Island. This hidden gem with all its spectacular beauty and nature has much more to offer then just beaches and resorts, what this island offers is a feeling of relaxation. In this world of stress and pressure, the island serves as place where people can ease their minds and perhaps that is the reason why flocks of people, during their vacations, come to the island and swell its population. Not only does that improve the economic situation of the permanent residents of the island but also works to better the social lives and mental health of many people that visit the place.
The island lies within a short distance of the towns of Islip, Babylon Brookhaven and has two villages and a number of hamlets. However, there is not a really big population living on the island. Only 292 people are the permanent residents of Fire Island, which is even less than Southold which is already a small town. The population swells only during the summers when people come to their summer beach houses.
The island got divided into two by Hurricane Sandy in 2012, which together make up a land of 50km in length. The island is only accessible by automobile via the Robert Moses Causeway up till a specific time and after that, the cars are not allowed on the island. At one point the island used to be 97km however around 1683 Fire Island inlet broke through and separated it from Jones Beach. A famous landmark was built on the inlet, the Fire Island Lighthouse was built in 1858 and to this day it still stands tall. The site is visited by many people annually because of the views surrounding it. It is located in the Robert Moses state park which is a five long park and is considered cleaner and better then the Jones Beach.
The place is known as “where time has stood still”, mostly because there are no cars only people riding bicycles and walking. This has promoted the social lives of people on Fire Island. Many people talk to each other, they have better relations with their neighbors and the overall community of the island is something that attracts people year round. The day trippers or people who come to visit the island tend to stay at hotels or some people rent houses. These houses have their own vibe, beautifully designed houses with elegant epoxy flooring designs installed from Infinity Epoxy Floors, the feeling of these beach houses is something different. It is something that many people come here to experience.
Ocean Beach is one of the main villages of the island, it also considered as the unofficial capital of the island because of it big downtown. Its family friendly and charming bayside marina vibe also has many restaurants, cafés and gift shops all of which welcome bare feet. The village however is sometimes called as the “Land Of No” because of its countless rules. Having its own schools and public service departments the city boast an average family income of $83,672 which affords the people living here a very decent and happening life style. Fire Island is not just a residential area with beaches and state park but it is an experience that everyone should have once in their life.
